2. Information on the Project

Project Description:
The Egyptian National Railways ("ENR"), the Agence Française de Développement (“AFD”), and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”), are intending to finance the supply and installation of the railway tracks, and signalling and telecommunication systems of the Robeiky - 10th of Ramadan - Belbeis Railway Line Project (the “Project”).

The Project will connect the 10th Ramadan Dry Port PPP project (“DP 10”, the “Dry Port”) to ENR’s main network and in parallel allow freight traffic from southern ports towards north of the Nile delta to bypass the Cairo railway node and save time. It will also provide a railway link between Belbeis and DP 10 for commuting traffic. It is therefore considered a key enabling infrastructure for DP 10.

Contracts will be subject to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”)'s Procurement Policies and Rules and are open for participation for firms from any country, unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents.

Procurement under this project will be conducted using the EBRD Client E-Procurement Portal (ECEPP).
